I forgot to post this - my acrylic paint hair dye experiment was a FAIL! lol

This is what the dolls looked like before…and the pic above is what they look like now. If you’re going to dye doll hair with acrylic paint DO NOT let them get wet! Luckily I was able to salvage the Licca head that had pink hair, but the head with black is ruined. I might be able to spray paint it and re-do her faceup…but yeah. Acrylic paint as hair dye is not worth it, IMO :(

Canada Post/Ebay/PayPal RANT

I am so frustrated with overseas buyers! Just now I’ve been forced to return money for an item that shouldn’t even get to the person for another week or so. They filed a case with ebay, I told ebay when the package should arrive and I have the receipts (for insurance + the til recipt). I log into ebay the next day and they’ve done a full refund to the buyer - WHAT THE FUCK. At least this time it was only for $30 (for a mint condition Blythe scalp), but in the past I lost $$ for a Bobobie doll (over $100) and a second gen Pullip (over $90), because for some reason ebay/paypal doesn’t wait for shit to get mailed. Overseas small packets generally take 6 to 8 weeks to be delivered. I tell the buyers that, I tell ebay that, but no one believes me? I can’t be the only seller from Canada who uses the cheapest shipping method!

From now on I will not ship overseas without a tracking number! Shipping for overseas buyers will cost an extra $10 or so, but fuck it. It’s not worth me loosing money/getting ripped off. Sure the people say they’ll message me if the dolls arrive, but honestly? Who would? You just got a $100 doll for FREE. Fuck you ebay.

And the other thing that ticks me off is ebay’s feedback system. I was grumpy about loosing $30 plus a Blythe scalp, so when someone wasted my time by bidding on an auction then never paying or contacting me (while still buying other shit on ebay & paying for it), I was looking forward to giving them negative feedback. I have never left negative feedback in my life…so when I finally closed the case I put against them (hoping they’d man up and pay) I discover that I can’t leave them feedback! The fuck? Maybe I waited too long? (Another ebay flaw) So now I can’t warn other sellers about this person bidding on shit and then wasting their time. They currently have 100% positive feedback. Ugh.

/rant. Just had to get that off my chest :)

I mean… I can deal with someone knowing what they’re doing is wrong and making the decision to do it anyway more than I can deal with someone knowing what they’re doing is wrong and justifying it with some victim-card bullshit.

I think most recast owners probably don’t give a fuck, but the majority of people speaking up publicly *are* the ones who try to justify their actions or give excuses.

Not everyone with a recast is a whiny special snowflake, just like how every Chinese BJD isn’t cheap and ugly. Some people just want pretty dolls for less money, and with the current economic situation and society most of us Westerners live in, I don’t see this “wanting more for less” trend going away any time soon!

Hair dyed using acrylic paint - basically I soaked the hair then manually rubbed/combed in the paint. Let them sit for awhile to drip dry, then used the low heat setting on my blow dryer to finish drying them. Combed out the hair (a lot!) and voila!

They’re aren’t done though, I want to try one more “coat” of paint to cover up some of the patches that still look blond :(

UPDATE! Attempting to do one more coat was a BAD idea! The heads got stained and even acetone nail polish won’t get the dye out! Click here to see the results

Monster High body VS an Obitsu 23cm body.

For those who might be wondering, Obitsu 23cm bodies can wear *some* Monster High clothing. For example, the CAM Skeleton Girl dress fits perfectly but the bathing suit Skull Shores Ghoulia Yelps wears is too small around the chest to fit an Obitsu 23cm body :(

And on a side note, most MH accessories seem to fit perfectly! Earrings fit Licca’s ear holes, bracelets fit Obitsu 23cm body wrists, the glasses fit around Licca’s head, etc!

Lati recasts arrive in better condition than the dolls directly from lati do.. the recasters care more about their reputation where as lati is just a big shot company who doesn't care for it's customers anymore =\ I'd rather buy a recast and get what I asked for, for my money, than spend a bunch on something that isn't going to be what I wanted )=

I’ve never bought anything from the Lati website (second-hand only), therefore I don’t have that much of an opinion.

But I keep reading stories about how Lati (as well as few other BJD companies) don’t care anymore, and that really sucks :(
