Going to re-root a vintage Barbie - I’m thinking of going with either purple or pink hair

Licca re-roots! After the acrylic paint hair dye disaster, I’ll be sticking with re-rooting from now on!! lol

I forgot to post this - my acrylic paint hair dye experiment was a FAIL! lol

This is what the dolls looked like before…and the pic above is what they look like now. If you’re going to dye doll hair with acrylic paint DO NOT let them get wet! Luckily I was able to salvage the Licca head that had pink hair, but the head with black is ruined. I might be able to spray paint it and re-do her faceup…but yeah. Acrylic paint as hair dye is not worth it, IMO :(

Attempted a lipstick look on Blythe but I really don’t like it. A bit ago someone made a confession about “lipstick” cheapening faceups and I agree in most cases :(

Hair dyed using acrylic paint - basically I soaked the hair then manually rubbed/combed in the paint. Let them sit for awhile to drip dry, then used the low heat setting on my blow dryer to finish drying them. Combed out the hair (a lot!) and voila!

They’re aren’t done though, I want to try one more “coat” of paint to cover up some of the patches that still look blond :(

UPDATE! Attempting to do one more coat was a BAD idea! The heads got stained and even acetone nail polish won’t get the dye out! Click here to see the results

Monster High body VS an Obitsu 23cm body.

For those who might be wondering, Obitsu 23cm bodies can wear *some* Monster High clothing. For example, the CAM Skeleton Girl dress fits perfectly but the bathing suit Skull Shores Ghoulia Yelps wears is too small around the chest to fit an Obitsu 23cm body :(

And on a side note, most MH accessories seem to fit perfectly! Earrings fit Licca’s ear holes, bracelets fit Obitsu 23cm body wrists, the glasses fit around Licca’s head, etc!

I just won a lot of Licca heads - 10 for just $2.50 each! I’m gonna need more synthetic hair and obitsu bodies!

A treatment for resin yellowing - I didn’t have any Mr.Clean magic erasers so I just left my Lati lea in 70% isopropyl alcohol for 24hrs and this was the result!
